BARBERTON – A man believed to be in his early 30s, has committed suicide at the dumping site next to Verulum. Mpumalanga News learnt that the deceased originated from Driekoppies in Nkomazi Local Municipality.
He apparently hanged himself on the tree with a curtain tightened around his neck. It’s also alleged that the man had done a blood test and had received a call on his blood results.
It is highly suspected that the results were not in a favourable taste, hence he committed suicide.
The spokesperson of the local police station, Constable Tutu Nkosi, confirmed the incident as she said: “It’s true and we have already opened an inquest case. It seems like the man did a blood test and he received the results. We don’t know what might have led him to commit suicide.”
A close family friend told this publication that the deceased woke up in the morning and left for work. He was employed at the Fairview Mine.
Around 11h00, the family received the shocking news that one of their members had hung himself on a tree.”We don’t know what happened. He didn’t even leave a note behind so that we can know what led him to kill himself,” he concluded.
