Bad service at Lekazi Clinic

KANYAMAZANE – Patients at the local clinic are fed up with the overcrowding and nurses’ bad attitude when seeking help. Some of them are forced to stand for hours while waiting to receive help because there are not enough chairs.

When this reporter arrived at the clinic, patients were crowded inside, while others were sitting in a shelter, and others were forced to stand. One of the patients, Mr Simon Ngwenyama said,”I arrived here at 06:00 and now it’s 12:30, I’m still waiting for my file. The service is not good.”

Ms Selinah Sibiti had the following complaint about the KaNyamazane Clinic, “When I arrived here there were few nurses and they were not interested in attending to us. They need to change their bad attitude as nursing is supposed to be a calling, but the way they treat people is not acceptable.

“Sometimes we are forced to stand while we are not feeling well.

“There is chaos in this clinic, they must build another clinic because KaNyamazane is very big, because you can find people from Ntokozweni attending here.”

A source said, “We are not working in a friendly environment, as overcrowding is a nightmare and we don’t have air conditioners in wards and it’s unhealthy.

These conditions led to some staff members becoming rude which is not good, especially to the elderly.

Because they are not coping in this environment some nurses or doctors decided to join private hospitals because they were fed up. Chaos reigns daily at this clinic.”
