Big store chain unveils picture of Tata Madiba

They would continue to do lot of activities to honour Mandela

KABOKWENI – As part of ensuring that the spirit of the late Dr Nelson Mandela lives forever, P&L Hardware which has 40 branches scattered across the whole country, unveiled a picture of the icon in their stores.

Speaking to Mpumalanga News, the KaBokweni branch manager, Mr Simon Chauke said, “We have decided to hang his picture on the wall of all our stores in South Africa as a remembrance of his great work.

“This is going to be a reminder to our staff that we must live under the spirit of Mandela, which is ubuntu and unity.”

He added that the freedom Mandela brought, opened many doors for South Africans, “Back in the days, it was not easy for business sectors to operate freely.
“Since the dawn of democracy, business has been doing well as it also boosts the economy of the country and creates more job opportunities. What we are doing is also being done nationwide.”

He told this publication that they would continue to do a lot of activities to honour Mandela. Monday saw the Piennar branch taking turns in unveiling the picture of the struggle icon.
“On behalf of the Msogwaba Traditional Authority, I would like to applaud this hardware franchise for their move to honour our father, Mandela.
“This gesture proves that our business communities aren’t just here to make money but to help build and develop our communities.
“We are happy and thankful to the management of this outlet for making us part of this unveiling, it shows that they respect their local traditional authority,” said
Cllr Obed Richard Nkosi, a traditional councillor of this tribal kraal.
P&L Hardware’s manager, Ms Thembi Radebe said the picture which was already hanging in their store would always serve as a reminder what Mandela fought and stood for.
“This is our way of honouring this great man. It may not be enough compared to what he has done for us, but we hope that this little gesture will go a long way in ensuring that Mandela’s legacy lives on forever,” she said.
