BARBERTON – The ANC in Umjindi has refuted the utterances made by   EFF president,  Julius “Juju” Malema after he accused some members of the ruling party of trying to disrupt his party at their gathering that was held in an open space near Tzaneen store last week Wednesday.

Mpumalanga News has learnt that across the road, there were ANC members who were waving flags, distributing T-shirts, berets and flags while Malema was addressing his supporters.

Malema lashed out at the members of the party who were waving flags across the road.

The Convener for media communication and task team of the ruling party at Umjindi Local Municipality, Mr Bhekizwe Nkambule told Mpumalanga News that it is not true that they were trying to disrupt the EFF event.

He said: “It’s not true that we were trying to disrupt them. We were running our own campaign of encouraging residents to register to vote on the 8-9 February.

We normally run our campaigns in that area since we had started on Monday and EFF decided to host their event. We didn’t want chaos or drama. We decided to continue with our campaign across the road. We are not shaken by EFF.”
