Buscor struggled to deliver

Commuters making use of Buscor, unhappy about service delivery

NELSPRUIT – Various readers approached Lowvelder and complained that they had battled with transport when the president, Mr Jacob Zuma visited Mpumalanga’s capital last week.

These commuters make use of Buscor to get to and from work and say they experienced tremendous inconvenience since the company’s buses were not readily available. Several were used to ferry people to Mbombela Stadium where the ANC launched their national elections manifesto.

These passengers added that Buscor did not notify them beforehand that they might be experiencing delays. This is according to receiving manager of Fruit & Veg City, Ms Clara Torrao.

Assistant managing director of Buscor, Mr Dawie Wilson said that it was only on Saturday that the problem occurred. Bus services were interrupted due to a heavy traffic congestion at the stadium. The schedule for the week went on as planned, except for Saturday. The trouble started when the buses got stuck in traffic on their way to the stadium and could not return to pick up passengers.

Wilson apologised for any inconvenience commuters might have experienced and said it could not be avoided, due to the heavy traffic pile-up.
