The N4 claims two more lives

A horrific accident east of the Nkomazi plaza towards Malalane around 05:40 yesterday, claimed the lives of two people and seriously injured four.

MALALANE – A horrific accident east of the Nkomazi plaza towards Malalane around 05:40 yesterday, claimed the lives of two people and seriously injured four.

There were three vehicles involved in the accident, including two bakkies and a minibus. The driver of the minibus, who was underway in Nelspruit’s direction, apparently lost control of the vehicle and swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic.

The minibus collided with two bakkies that were underway in Gauteng’s direction.

The impact killed the driver of the minibus and a passenger who was seated behind him.

According to provincial Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesman, Mr Joseph Mabuza, there was one more passenger in the minibus and two occupants in each of the bakkies.

All five of them were taken to Shongwe Mission Hospital in Schoemansdal. He described the condition of two of these patients as critical.
