Body builder aspires to assist the youth

Body building is not all about building muscle ,but it also teaches about morals.

Exercising keeps a person healthy and sports activities also play a very significant role in our communities when it comes to keeping children away from crime and substance abuse.

It is believed that most of the young people get involved in crime because they don’t have any activities or sports facilities intheir communities to entertain themselves. Lucky Nkosi, who’s a body-builder, is determined to help others who want to join the National Amateur Body Builders Association ( NABBA). The organization is not only dealing with this kind of sport, but is also giving a good platform to the youth who want to break through body building competition.

“This sport is very expensive and unique. It’s not all about building muscles, we have recently held a Mpumalanga Show competitionin Secunda and it has opened doors for those who want to take part in Mr  Universe and for the ladies, we have different categories such as Miss Fitness.

We even went to compete at international level as we started in the provincial and at national level,“ he explained.

He indicated that it’s not any easy sport because one has to start to prepare very hard, which means that it’s very important to practice on their own.

“Those who have interest are welcome to contact us on 079 676 5794. We want to put our province on the map when it comes to body builders competitions,” said Nkosi.

There are different types of sports in the country, while some of them we are not familiar with as he said that lack of recognition of this type of a sport and funding is a biggest challenge as he went on and said:

“In terms of getting funding, we are still struggling at the moment. We are managing to survive because of our current sponsors who also made it possible for us to host the Mpumalanga Show competition as I indicated earlier on that this sport is very expensive because you need to have a special diet so that it will be easy for you to be flexible.

We have our own team that represents Mpumalanga in national competitions. What I like about this sport is that you learn to be disciplined.”
