Renewed hope for those in need

Local businesses have been urged to come together and open their pockets to less fortunate.

MBOMBELA – Local businesses have been urged to come together, open their pockets and donate to the needy in an effort to eradicate hunger, decrease crime rates and give hope to the hopeless.

Nelspruit-based businessmen and big company names embarked on a joint venture to help a community centre in Mataffin. Good Hope Centre was once again blessed with donations that value the saying “charity begins at home” when the SANDF, Liberty Life, Metropolitan, Nedbank and Msambube and I Marketing collaborated to purchase a much-needed computer and office equipment to run office duties properly.

“We visited the centre and sat down with Past Sibusiso Mabuza and inquired about their needs.

“We made a list ranging from the most important to the least and made our decision based on what we could afford.

“We decided to purchase office equipment since they mentioned they struggled with keeping records. We will keep in contact with Mabuza to check on the progress while we organise them more effectively,” said

Thabo Maphisa of Liberty Life.

The centre’s biggest challenge is toilets that are malfunctioning, the current ones are very problematic to the teachers and children. Fortunately Msombube and I Marketing have promised to take it upon themselves to install a functioning sanitation system at the centre.

“My partners and I have decided to adopt the Good Hope Centre and do what we can to help them look after these children in a proper way.

After doing our own research, we saw that since the toilets were the main concern, we have to erect new toilets for them,” said Mandla Singwane, the director.

Siboniso Maseko, head of commu-nications at Joint Tac HQ Mpumalanga Army spearheaded the invitations to corporate companies to help with donations at the centre and encouraged more businesses and individuals to join in the spirit of giving and helping.

“You do not have to be famous or wealthy to help the needy, that is the aim of our mission when motivating for more donations. Let us all help where we can,” said Maseko.
