Center benefits from local businesses

Nelspruit-based businessman and big company names came on a joint venture to help a community center in Mataffin.

MBOMBELA – Local businesses have been urged to come together, open their pockets and donate to the needy in an effort to eradicate hunger, decrease crime rate and give hope to the hopeless.

Nelspruit-based businessman and big company names came on a joint venture to help a community center in Mataffin. Good Hope Center was once again blessed with donations from companies that value the saying “charity begins at home” when The SANDF, Liberty Life, Metropolitan, Nedbank and Msambube and I Marketing came and combined heads and money to purchase a much-needed computer and office equipment for the centre to run office duties properly.

“We visited the centre and sat down with Pastor Sibusiso Mabuza and inquired about what they are in need of. We wrote a list from the most important to the least and made our decision from what we could afford and came to the decision of purchasing the office equipment since they mentioned that they struggle with keeping files of the goings-on, on a daily basis. We will keep in contact with Mabuza to check on the progress while we organize how to do more in helping them with the list they gave us of their needs,” said Thabo Maphisa from Liberty Life.

The Centre’s biggest challenge is proper toilets that are malfunctioning, the current one being very problematic to the teachers and children that stay there. Fortunately Msombube and I Marketing have promised to take it upon their stride to install a well functioning sanitation system to be used at the Centre.

“My partners and I have decided to adopt the Good Hope Centre and do what we can to help them look after these children in a proper way. After doing our own research, we saw that since the toilets are the main concern, we have decided to set up new toilets for them,” said Mandla Singwane, the director.

Siboniso Maseko, Head of Communications at Joint Tac HQ Mpumalanga Army spearheaded the invitations to corporate companies to help with donations at the centre and encouraged more businesses and individuals to join in the spirit of giving and helping that the nations former president taught all of us.

“You do not have to be famous or wealthy to help the needy, that is the aim of our mission when motivating more donations let us all help where we can at which ever centre,” said Maseko.
