Penreach honoures top students for 2013

Penreach honoured the best students in the area for outstanding performance in Maths and Science

NELSPRUIT – Penreach’ mathematics and science successes for 2013 were celebrated at Shalamuka Science Centre on Saturday.

Top pupils were honoured for their achievements and Thulisile Mnisi directed the prize-giving ceremony. Alex van der Heever and Renias Mhlongo, founders of Tracker academy in partnership with Peace Parks Foundation, gave a motivational speech in which they congratulated the learners. They also told entertaining stories of the struggles they had to endure such as language barriers and race, especially those of working with each other, and how they overcame these challenges.

You could see the pride in these learners as they recieved their awards including a trophy and a certificate rewarding their hard work. Some of these top grade 12s, who received distinctions in maths and science include Tumelo Mashaba and Thinyik Mhlongo of ML Nkuna High School, Siphesihle Buthelezi of Hlanganani High School, Malebo Nyakame of Makosana High School and Thobelo Wandile of Hlanganani High School.
