KRIEL – A police constable and four suspects were arrested for possession of dagga,worth approximately R500 000 on Sunday.
This was after the local laid complaints of police involvement in drug trafficking.
Acting on a tip off, the police trailed the suspects.

The police conducted a search and found 16 sealed bags of dagga which were stashed at the back of a vehicle.
Solomon Senoamadi( 38)the police constable Nhlakanipho Mtshali (34)Hezekiah Bhembe (62), Thabo Gama and Nkululeko Thabethe both aged 25, were charged with possession of dagga and defeating the ends of justice.
The five appeared at the Kriel Magistrate’s Court today and they were all granted R2 000 bail each. The matter was postponed to Thursday for further investigation.
