Wife conspires with five suspects to murder husband

BALFOUR – Jabulani Isaac Nkosi’s wife and five accomplices appeared in the Balfour Magistrate’s Court today on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.

According to the police, Nkosi, a well-known businessman, was allegedly murdered by his wife last Sunday, Busi Mitta Nkosi with five other suspects. He was at his home when Muntu Mashinini, Sipho Dube, Thokozane Radebe, Zenele Malindisi, as well as a 17-year-old girl allegedly entered his house and fired several shots at him before fleeing the scene.

Their case was postponed to February 3 for a formal bail application and further investigation. Police as well as paramedics were notified by members of the public about the incident. Upon arrival, Nkosi was declared dead on the scene.

“A case of murder was opened and we have started the investigation. A manhunt was launched for the suspects. Part of the investigation will be a attempted murder case in which Nkosi was nearly killed after being shot by two armed men who entered his house wearing balaclavas. This particular incident occurred on January 8 at about 23h15, whereby suspects found him in the bedroom and the two men started to demand money. Nkosi fought back and in the process, he was shot,” said the police.

On the first shooting incident, the businessman was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received medical treatment. Nkosi was then discharged from hospital on January 16 but three days later was fatally shot at his home. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
