A man and woman between the ages of 27 and 42 are expected to appear in the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court today for alleged kidnapping.
They were arrested on Monday, January 20 for allegedly kidnapping an 11-year-old girl on November 30, 2019 at Vosman.
According to reports, the girl was made to believe that her mother sent people to come and fetch her as the mother was not at home at the time.The other members of the family were not suspicious because the man was polite and convincing.

The girl was taken her whereabouts were unknown until the following day when the suspects called the mother demand a ransom of R250 000, in exchange for the child. The suspects indicated that the child was kept in Mbombela and threatened the mother not to alert the police.
Desperately longing to see her daughter, she informed the other family members about the cal she had received. A case was opened and the suspects were arrested within a few hours in Vosman where the girl was found unharmed.
