Man gets 15 years in prison for stabbing girlfriend to death

The accused made his first appearance this month and pleaded guilty for the murder of his girlfriend.

Last week, the Breyten High Court has sentenced a 31-year-old man to 15 years imprisonment for murder.

Sibusiso Brian Ntuli  stabbed his girlfriend in June last year at Phola Park in Piet Retief.  He then ran away after the incident and went into hiding. The next day, police followed up on information about his whereabouts and he was arrested.

Ntuli made his first appearance on September 2, 2019 and pleaded guilty to the murder of his girlfriend.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service,  Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma has welcomed the sentencing and applauded the members for their excellent work in making sure that the perpetrator is brought to book.
