Thokozani Malinga was rearrested by an off-duty cop after escaping from lawful custody at the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Malinga escaped whilse being escorted back to the holding cells and fled from the court room. He is now facing an additional charge of escape form lawful custody and is due to appear in court today.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma applauded the member for going beyond the call of duty and bringing this fugitive to book. “This shows a passion and dedication towards his work and all police officers must take a queue from his actions” said General Zuma.
