Grandparents wanted for child’s murder

The police believe that Mr Phanuel Kombora and Ms Francis Muwinza who used to live in Gobhoza Section, will help police in the investigations of the child’s murder.

Pienaar police are looking for the grandparents of a three-year-old child, Ayanda Kombora, who was buried at their yard in 2015.

Capt Jabu Ndubane, spokesperson of the Pienaar Cluster, says this investigation comes after the biological mother of the child who is believed to be mentally challenged, showed the police where her child was buried at the yard where the couple used to rent.

Mpumalanga News learnt that the child’s mother used to come to the police station many times after the incident, but would be chased away as police believed she was mentally retarded. It was only on April 11 when they listened to her story.

“The police dug the place pointed out to them by the mum and indeed found the decomposed body of a little girl wearing blue track pants with a pink T-shirt,” said Ndubane.
Ndubane said the child’s mother alleges that her daughter fainted and never woke up after she was assaulted her step-grandmother (Francis). She alleges that her father (Phanuel) threatened to kill her if she ever spoke to someone about the incident.

The police are now investigating a case of murder. Anyone who may assist with the whereabouts of Mr Phanuel Khombora and Ms Francis Muwinza is urged to call the
investigating officer Lt/Col Jackie Mbuyane on 082 469 1478 or 013 794 9300.
