Cash in transit between UMP and KaMagugu junction

An undisclosed amount of cash was robbed from an SBV vehicle during a cash in transit near the University of Mpumalanga.

MBOMBELA- Drivers using the road between the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) and KaMagugu junction are warned to use alternative routes as this route is currently closed due to a cash-in-transit which occurred on the road this morning.
According to an eyewitness, members of the police are still busy onthe scene where a SBV truck was attacked.

“We are not sure as to what really happened, all we see is an SBV truck and a unmarked police vehicle on the scene. One of the robbers was also shot,” said a witness.

Brig Leonard Hlathi confirmed the robbery. He said police will release full details once they are done with their investigations at the crime scene.
