The Pienaar-based police officer who was arrested with another 30-year-old man for possession of a stolen truck on Tuesday, faces an extra charge of hijacking.
Const Kenny Martin Manana with his co-accused Surprise Khulani Manana (30) – police could not confirm if they were related or not – briefly appeared in the White River Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of a stolen truck on Wednesday.
They were remanded in custody until November 30.
The two will appear again in the Sabie Magistrate’s Court on charges of hijacking on Thursday

The truck was apparently taken from its driver in Sabie.
They were immediately arrested by the White River Flying Squad, which acted promptly to information received from a tracking company – which alleges that one of the trucks they were responsible for was taking a wrong turn between Sabie and White River. .
