Robbers kill innocent man during a robbery

The suspects fled the scene in a white Bantam bakkie with false registration numbers.

An unsuspecting civilian was shot dead and another one injured when a group of 13 armed robbers hit KaMhlushwa Sasol garage on Monday morning.

“He came to the filling station to buy petrol, unfortunately he was shot on his upper body and died at the scene. His car kept moving until it crashed onto a house nearby.
Another man who also came to the garage for petrol, survived a hail of bullets when the suspects fired at him, he managed to escape unharmed,” said Brig Leonard Hlathi.

The suspects threw a bomb in the safe and stole cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled the scene in a white Bantam bakkie with false registration numbers. No arrests have been made yet.
