Twins kidnapped while following their dreams

The victim and his sister were suddenly injected with an unknown chemical, raped and assaulted.

Mpumalanga police are investigating cases of kidnapping, rape and common assault.

This comes after a 19-year-old victim woke up from a hospital in Bushbuckridge after an ordeal that he and other youths experienced.

According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, the victim alleges that he and his twin sister saw an advert on social media around February looking for candidates, good in mathematics, to be admitted at a certain medical school in Johannesburg.

After a few contacts with the “school” owner, an offer was made for the twins.

Arrangements for their bus tickets from Kroonstad in the Free State to Johannesburg was made by the owner as they could not afford to pay for themselves.

The supposed school owner pretended to be a real good Samaritan as he even deposited pocket money for their food along the way.

Once in Johannesburg, they were fetched from the Johannesburg Park Station by a black BMW X6.

They were taken to a certain house where they allegedly found other girls and boys close to 24 in total.

On June 7, the siblings were removed from the house and from there, the victim was apparently drugged as he did not see what happened after that.

He only woke up on a hospital bed in Bushbuckridge, after he was found by passers-by lying next to the road in Bushbuckridge.

According to Hlathi, when the victim’s aunt was contacted by police, she reported that she received a call from the victim’s sister yesterday telling her that she was in a flight to Lagos, Nigeria.

“The Hawks have been informed regarding this matter for the purposes of a joint investigation in conjunction with other relevant security formations,” he said.
