Duo arrested for unlicensed firearms and ammunition

ACORNHOEK- Two men were arrested yesterday after the police received information regarding a suspicious vehicle around the area.

Robert Changwe and Elias Muchuane at the Acornhoek Magistrate’s Court for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

It was when their vehicle, a Double Cab Nissan Hardbody was stopped and searched, that the police found a black plastic bag wrapped around a rifle which the suspects failed to account for.

They were remanded in custody until March 20 for a formal bail application.
