MSHOLOZI – Police investigations have so far resulted in the arrest of a woman alleged to be part of a group who stoned a 25-year old man suspected to be a child rapist to death on New Year’s day.
“The suspect briefly appeared at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder. She was not asked to plead to the charges,” explained Sgt Cynthia Mbokodo, spokesperson of White River police.
Mbokodo said investigations still continue on this matter. The suspect was remanded in custody.

The deceased was apparently dragged from a local tavern by members of the community who suspected him to be the one who supposedly raped two children from Section D.
According to onlookers, he was severely beaten by the mob and even stoned with bricks. The police confirmed that the suspect was certified dead on the scene. Police investigations still continue on the matter.
