Grade 10 learner to appear for murder

Police went to the hospital where they found the body of the man and opened an inquest.

LYDENBURG – A 17-year-old Grade 10 girl from Lydenburg is due to appear before the Lydenburg Magistrate’s Court on allegations of a murder of her boyfriend.

Police went to the hospital where they found the body of the man and opened an inquest. On Sunday the police and the family of the deceased went to the scene where the incident had happened, which is around Lydenburg at a certain house.

The reason was to investigate this matter further as they realised that something was not adding up. On their arrival at the scene, they requested to see the tree from which the victim had fallen and also the sharp object that he had allegedly fallen on.

However, no object could be found and that is when foul play was suspected. It was discovered that the 21-year-old deceased had been involved in a squabble with his 17-year-old girlfriend and that led to him being stabbed.

The suspect was then arrested on Sunday and subsequently released into the custody of her parents.
