Police on the lookout for four armed robbers

One of the guards managed to run to the CIT vehicle where he took a firearm and fired shots at the suspects.

MBOMBELA- The police are on the lookout for unknown men after an armed robbery took place at the satellite office of the Mbombela Local Municipality, Riverside on May 10.

This happened when a Cash-In-Transit (CIT) vehicle of the G4S Security Company was collecting money when four suspects driving in a Chevy Spark were waiting for them.

According to police information, the security guards were approaching their vehicle when three of the suspects robbed them of a firearm and an empty money bag.

One of the guards managed to run to the CIT vehicle where he took a firearm and fired shots at the suspects.

One of the suspects is believed to have been shot as he fell to the ground and had to be dragged into their vehicle by his accomplices. The suspects sped off from the scene in their vehicle to an unknown direction, taking the empty money bag and the fire arm with them.

A case of armed robbery was opened by the Nelspruit SAPS for investigation. Any person with information that may lead to the
