G4S security vehicles robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash

The incident happened around 17:40 when unknown armed suspects driving in a black BMW, a white VW golf, a grey Jetta and a black Mercedes Benz, forcefully stopped the vehicles

WHITE RIVER – Two G4S security vehicles were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash when they were hijacked on the R538 road between White River and Mganduzweni.

The security vehicles were blasted open and the cash was stolen. Drivers from both vehicles were also shot on their arms and legs during the process, but are in a stable condition.

Capt Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, spokesperson for the Hawks in Mpumalanga says: “The robbers further robbed the security guards of two pistols and two bullet proof vests. R5 cartridges were found on the scene,” she said.

No arrests have been made so far and investigations are continuing.
