Suspects remanded in custody

They will appear again in court on April 8, for their bail application.

BARBERTON – Six suspects were arrested in connection with theft and possession of gold bearing Ore.
All the suspects were remanded in custody.
Their case was postponed for April 08 for formal bail application.

The suspects, Elphas Nkosi, Natika Maphanga, Sizwe Muvuz, Carrekes Nxobelo, Clearance Pangiso and July Mkudi aged between 21 and 30 years, appeared before the Barberton Magistrates Court yesterday. They were arrested on March 30 by members of the Hawks Organised Crime Unit in Barberton near the Concort mining area.

They were found in possession of gold worth an estimated value of R25 000.
