Sports department hands over sport gear

Thirty seven sports clubs including Dipaliseng Young Rabbits, Sakhile Hand Ball and Super Falcons were given brand new sport attire by the MEC.

DIPALESENG – MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ms Sibongile Manana once again put a smile on the faces of young people in sport when she handed over sports attire to them on Saturday at the Ella De Bruin Hall at Msukaligwa, in Gert Sibande.

Thirty seven sports clubs including Dipaliseng Young Rabbits, Sakhile Hand Ball and Super Falcons were given brand new sport attire by the MEC. The Clubs received football, handball, volleyball and netball kits to wear when competing against other teams both provincially and nationally.

“We are on a mission towards ensuring that young people participate fully in sport and build a bright future through sport. We therefore urge young people to identify their talents in sport, participate and we will assist them in developing their talent in the best way possible.

We are definitely committed to elevating the levels of participation in sport in the province by providing our young people with the necessary support, equipment and attire which will help them perform well.” said Manana during the handover.

Manana cautioned the youth on the dangers of drug and substance abuse, whilst encouraging them to lead a healthy lifestyle through exercise.
