An experience of a lifetime to cherish

She and her colleagues from other provinces, spent seven days in the Eastern Cape, crying and praying most of the time as people and churches from all over the world flocked to the country to share their love for Madiba.

One lucky woman shares her experience of having been fortunate to work relentlessly on transport logistics during the funeral service of the late Dr Nelson Mandela in Qunu, the Eastern Cape during December.

She’s none other than Thelma Seeti, the regional customer liaison manager of Phakisaworld Fleet Solutions, who was delighted to be among the VIP guests who attended the late Nelson Mandela’s funeral.

She and colleagues, rubbed shoulders with the who’s who from home and abroad. “It just brings tears to my eyes when I think of Madiba’s dignified send-off. I get goosebumps.

I’m grateful to Phakisaworld and that I happen to be one of those who were asked to go and work in East Cape, to make sure that all transport requirements are met without any failure,” said Seete.

“It was such a fulfilling ceremony and we worked out of love to make sure that everything was in order,” she said.

Seeti and her colleagues from other provinces, spent seven days in the Eastern Cape, crying and praying most of the time as people and churches from all over the world flocked to the country to share their love for Madiba.

“This I will definitely tell to my grandchildren and the world because it was just worth doing and so humbling. I felt that it was my duty to play my role as a South African citizen. Not sleeping was not an issue for me, because I wanted to make a mark. I wanted to give back to he for what he had given to the nation, I never felt tired or annoyed,” she said. “I guess that’s how Tata wanted it to be, overwhelmingly peaceful, dignified and well planned. May his soul rest in peace. His legacy will live on and we will continue the good fight,” she added.

She said her experience had taught her to offer her help unselfishly whenever there is a need to do so.
