MEC for health receives mobile clinic and wheelchairs for Phola community

 The MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, said this donation will improve the lives of the community members.

The MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, received a fully equipped mobile clinic and 20 wheelchairs on Friday May 10 at Phola Ext 3 under Emalahleni Local Municipality.

The clinic and wheelchairs were donated by Anglo American Inyosi Coal Community Trust.

“The trust is committed to supporting the health and well-being of communities in the province. The fully functional VW Crafter Mobile Health Clinic, valued at R1,67m, will serve the community of Phola and surrounding farms to improve access to healthcare services. The wheelchairs will improve mobility, independence, and quality of life for recipients, thus enabling them to participate more fully in their communities,” she said.

Manzini appreciated the noble gesture by Anglo Inyosi Coal Community Trust.

“We welcome the donation and we believe it will have an impact to our people, especially those who are working or staying in the remote areas, and the wheelchairs will assist to improve independence in their daily life,” said Manzini.

She further encouraged the community to utilise health facilities to check their health status for early detection and treatment for ailments.
