Minister of health opens centre in Balfour worth millions

Accompanied by the MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, and various stakeholders and officials, the minister of health, Dr Joe Phaahla, recently opened a facility in this area to improve access to health services.

The minister of health, Dr Joe Phaahla, officially opened a state-of-the-art health facility, the Balfour Community Health Centre, in Balfour in the Dipaleseng Local Municipality on Thursday April 18.

The facility has 14 consultation rooms, an emergency unit, a maternity unit, an EMS unit and a forensic unit. According to the Mpumalanga Department of Health. the centre is worth R373.2m. Phaahla was accompanied by the Mpumalanga MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, who represented the premier and other officials and stakeholders.

“The facility will add value to public healthcare service delivery and will increase access to primary healthcare services, especially farm dwellers in the Dipaliseng Local Municipality and surrounds.”
