Teen proud of her new crown bagged in Pienaar pageant

The teen girl dreams of becoming Miss South Africa in the future and has already her way by bagging the Miss Teen Pienaar crown. Cynthia Mbingo hopes to be an inspiration to her peers.

Miss Teen Pienaar 2024, Cynthia Mbingo (17), is proud of her moment in the spotlight, being a queen representing teenagers in the township.

This aspiring model said she wants to lead by good example, and hopes that her new crown affords her more opportunities as a young woman.

“I have learnt of various ways of giving back to my community and to my peers, such as donation drives of sanitary towels and school shoes. I am looking forward to participate in more donation drives and compete in bigger pageants such as Miss Mpumalanga and Miss South Africa,” Cynthia said.

She wanted to participate in pageants from a young age, but never had the opportunity due to a lack of pageants in Barberton where she lives.

“To win the Miss Teen Pienaar competition, I had to believe in myself and have confidence that I can be the young achiever from whom my peers draw inspiration.”

Her mother, Ruth Silindza, said she is proud of her and will not cease to support her as she chases her dreams of being a model.

“Cynthia has always wanted to start, but we did not know how she could. She showed so much passion for this, from as early as when she could not even walk in heels. She once entered a primary school pageant and won. However, she could not continue competing in more pageants, because we always encouraged her to make her schoolwork a priority,” Silindza said.
