Buscor celebrates Transport Month in Mpumalanga

The commemoration of National Transport Month saw various dignitaries catching an early bus ride to interact with commuters.

The Mpumalanga MEC for public works, roads and transport, Mandla Ndlovu, Buscor’s executive chairperson, Dr Norah Fakude, and managing director, Oupa Matsebula, took an early-morning bus ride this morning, October 26, to get a first-hand experience of the ride while at the same time ensuring compliance and commemoration of National Transport Month.

Ndlovu said it is of crucial importance for public transportation to always be roadworthy and to ensure safety, which Fakude echoed that Buscor strives for safety and accuracy.

“Public transportation companies always need to adhere to the rules of the road and keep their vehicles in good working condition. When the vehicles are roadworthy and drivers adhere to the rules, then our people or passengers will be safe,” said Ndlovu when he interacted with some of Buscor’s passengers.

Ndlovu acknowledged that potholes contribute to some of the deadly accidents on the roads, and promised that the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport would continue to repair damaged roads and fill potholes.
