Tekwane South community protests for jobs

This small community initiated a protest and insisted that the CoM consider them for job opportunities in the area, especially the construction and upgrading of the nearby main road.

The tiny community of Tekwane South took their frustrations with the City of Mbombela (CoM) to the streets on October 12.
They barricaded the main road connecting KaNyamazane and Mbombela with burning tyres, debris, tree branches and rocks.

They insist that the CoM consider them for job and economic opportunities created by the construction and upgrading of the main road passing through Tekwane South.
The protesting community members have vowed to intensify their action if their concerns are not addressed.
The KaNyamazane police was on standby alert to monitor the situation.
