Red carpet event in White River boasts with colour as locals celebrate Heritage Month
The Red Carpet Heritage and Business Networking Session aimed to create a platform for business interaction as Heritage Day was celebrated.
Colour and African fashion were the order for the day at the Red Carpet Heritage and Business Networking Session at Hotel 247 on Saturday September 23.
The attendees were dressed in their unique South African cultural attire. They networked among one another to empower themselves and their businesses.
The festivities started off with the red carpet and photos session, followed by the networking session at the Hotel 247’s conference centre, which was decorated accordingly.
The Hotel 247’s sales and marketing manager, Blessing Mmola, said the purpose of the networking session was to strengthen business relations among local entrepreneurs while showcasing the different cultures. “Networking has proven to be an uplifting strategy to tackle issues faced by individuals and businesses. This event is set to help gain and rebuild relations among businesses while celebrating Heritage Month,” she said.

“Ultimately, the goal was to have fun dressed in our unique attire that represent the diversity of the country and province we live in, varying from Zulu, Xhosa, Swati, Venda, Tsonga and many more.”
There was entertainment offered by local musician such as Felicia Sompisi, poetry by Hlulani Mdluli and a traditional dance group, Timbali Temasiko. The MC also kept the attendees up to date with historic stories by Prisca Monareng as a form of entertainment.
