KaMagugu’s vibey musician releases hot new EP

Lungelo Hlabangane said the three songs on his newly released EP are about his heartbreaks, hardships and what he desires to achieve.

A vibrant musician, Lungelo Hlabangane, also known as DiCes the Heater, has recently released his EP, titled Going Up.

This upcoming young artist said his music aims to evoke emotions in people. “I try to be versatile in my music in different genres, such as hip-hop, R & B and trap music. My love of good music inspires me to be creative and to work hard every day.”

According to Hlabangane, one of the songs most loved on the EP is called “No Losses”, which features another local artist, 5MOKII. “The song is about the dreams and goals I have set for myself and my desire to achieve them by any means. The song’s ideas and the inspiration for my lyrics are based on my life experiences, and to never settle for anything less than I want. I have not received any awards for my music, but nothing is stopping me from reaching for a Grammy Award.

“This project is about healing and encouraging people to desire more in life despite the challenges they face.”

Hlabangane said he is studying towards a career in developmental studies at the University of Mpumalanga. He has worked with local young musicians such as Jetfueldrip, Eskae Amigo and Big Sosa Slime. He said his goals include creating a platform for other upcoming artists who aim to make it in the music industry.

“I am a member of a platform for creatives and upcoming artists called Greece Explosion, to showcase our talents and socialise with one another,” Hlabangane said.
