Mkhuhlu musician blesses fans with new music

Shagaan gospel musician, Gospel Silinda, plans to shoot his new music video at his former secondary school.

One of the province’s gospel musicians, Gospel Silinda, is taking the music scene by storm. With “Ku Rhandza Ka Xikwembu” having hit 2.54m views on YouTube, Silinda hopes to drop what will be yet another hit.

2022 and the beginning of 2023 have been a highlight in his career as an independent artist. He is a traditional gospel singer and songwriter and proud of his Tsonga/Shangaan culture, which he always incorporates into his music.

“I am cooking up a single titled ‘Yes, My Lord’. This is an inspirational song I wrote to appreciate Jesus. Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the previous one. The song is about the pleasure of fellowshipping with Jesus Christ all the days of my life,” Silinda said.

The song will be released on digital music streaming platforms such as YouTube, iTunes and Spotify on July 29.

Some exciting news about the upcoming song is that Silinda is engaging with stakeholders to shoot a music video for it at a local school.

“I am planning to have the music video shot at my former school, Makhosana Manzini Secondary School in Calcutta. It will be a pleasure to go back to my community and to give the learners some sort of encouragement.”

Silinda said the music video will be shot as soon as the idea is approved by the school when it reopens after the winter holiday.

He told Mpumalanga News the song will be a taste of his new album to be released just before the end of the year.

“I am embarking on a project to record a live DVD in Mozambique. I have done several shows in the country and the locals showed me so much love. I believe the smallest crowd I have performed for in Mozambique was 3 000 people.

“I want to release the album before the end of the year so I can do tours around Easter,” he said.

Silinda said he is pleased that his Son of a King album is still doing well after its release in 2022.

He said despite his own music projects taking over his time, he still makes music with one of the country’s biggest gospel groups, Joyous Celebration.
