Nyala mom uses scare tactics to try and save baby
A nyala that had unsuccessfully attempted to save her calf could not bear to witness the leopard eating it.
They say there’s no greater warrior than a mother protecting her calf. This was demonstrated to be true when a female nyala put her life in danger by attempting to divert the leopard that had captured her young one.
In an effort to scare off the leopard and let her baby live another day, the mother tries to bark. The leopard, however, wasn’t bothered by her strategy and took the young nyala in its mouth before starting to back away. Mike Tilley captured the heart-breaking moment.
