EFF launches voter registration drive in Nkomazi

This provincial launch comes shortly after the party national president, Julius Malema, launched this campaign nationally on April 2.

Nkomazi played host to the official launch of the Mpumalanga EFF’s 2024 voter registration campaign on Saturday.

According to the provincial chairperson, Collen Sedibe, this exercise is solely meant to attract new potential voters to its ranks while maintaining its already existing membership.

“The rationale behind this campaign is, firstly, to create much-needed voter awareness among our communities. Secondly and most importantly, we want to
attract as many eligible and potential voters as possible within the EFF. We want the first-time voters, especially young people, to register to vote for the EFF in the coming elections,” said Sedibe.

Together with the organisation’s ground forces, Sedibe conducted door-to-door visits and tavern stopovers, where they interacted with community members.

According to statistics, KaMdladla is one of the areas that has the highest number of unregistered voters in Mpumalanga.

Over 10 000 people are said to have not been registered to vote in this area alone. During the party’s national launch, the campaign was taken to Diepsloot in the City of Johannesburg, where there are about 33 000 eligible unregistered voters.

“In order for us to ensure total victory in the 2024 elections, we need to create a new voter base, and our start is here in Nkomazi.
We are starting today, and we must make it an everyday campaign. Everywhere we go or visit, we will ensure that we recruit and register at least one voter per day,” said Sedibe.
