IN PHOTOS: Ehlanzeni District’s social workers celebrate World Social Work Day

These social workers were honoured for the role they play in society, and they were reminded that the government is aware of their work.

As a way to celebrate the hard work and diligence of social workers, the Mpumalanga Department of Social Development celebrated World Social Work Day on Wednesday April 19 at Ingwenyama Conference and Sport Resorts.

 

The MEC for social development, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, presented some gifts and gift packs to all the attending social workers from the Ehlanzeni District.

A similar event will take place in Nkangala and Gert Sibande District later this month. Ntshalintshali honoured all the social workers who work diligently in responding to issues affecting vulnerable groups in society.

During the event, she urged them to continue doing the noble work they do to protect the marginalised and vulnerable. Ntshalintshali said the government acknowledges the role played by social workers in addressing social ills in various communities.
