Alleged fake attorney and murder accused appear in Bethal Magistrate’s Court

Doctor Sobetha (31) and Mhlabuyaxega Mntungwa (37) have been remanded in custody following their appearance in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court today, April 12.

Sobetha faces charges of impersonating an attorney representing Mntungwa, who is accused of the murder of a former manager of Sam Holdings, Nkosinathi Emmanuel Ngcongo.

Ngcongo was shot dead, allegedly by Mntungwa, in a drive-by shooting on September 12, 2019.

The Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, said Mntungwa and Sobetha’s cases were both postponed to May 2 and 3 respectively, for further bail hearing. She said both have been remanded in custody.
