Mpumalanga gospel artists to be honoured

The Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards will be hosted in Mbombela on December 11.

It will be a night of glitz and glam, worship and praise, when these gospel artists are honoured for their great work in the province’s music industry.

The official countdown to the ninth annual Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards has begun. The event will take place at the AFM Communio Church on December 11.

The stage will be set on holy fire with performances from music greats such as Takie Ndou, Sbu Noah, Sicelo Moya, Keneiloe Hope, Xolly Mncwango, and Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors.

There will be more performances by the musicians nominated in the song of the year category. They include Blessing Mnisi, Nqaba SM The Psalmist, Nomandla Sandra, Phumzile Sambo, Donny Ngwenyama and the Rising Sun Choir.

This year, local artists are nominated in a total of 20 categories. The nominees were announced on October 28.

The Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards’ CEO, Sandile Ngobe, said the ceremony will be one of the best hosted by far.

“We are in our ninth year, and of course, everyone in the country will be watching us, so we have to do our best. The standards are very high because we get to host the supporters of the musicians unlike during the Covid-19 pandemic, when we were limited.

We are attracting not only the Mpumalanga people to attend the awards, but from the rest of the country and neighbouring
countries,” Ngobe said.

People are urged to buy their tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers for R200 for general access and R500 for VIP access. The show starts at 18:00, and will be preceded by the red carpet entrance from 16:00.
