Bushbuckridge areas to go without water as maintenance is done

The community is urged to use water sparingly and save some for the planned shutdown

Some communities within the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality must brace themselves for a six-hour water drought on Thursday October 27, due to routine maintenance.

According to the municipality, the communities of Maviljan, Mapulaneng Hospital, Shangaan Hill, College View, Bushbuckridge Complex, Dwarsloop, Xanthia, Maripe, Shatale, Casteel, Zoeknog, Acornhoek, Marite, Oakley, Tekamahala, Alexandria and surrounding areas will be without water as technicians will be hard at work with maintenance on the Injaka Raw Water Pump.

According to the municipality, the planned shutdown will take place from 08:00 until 14:00. After the water pump is maintained, normal water supply will be restored.

The municipality requested the communities to work with it as it tries to improve water supply, and asked everyone to use water sparingly.
The municipality apologised for the inconvenience the situation will cause.
