Silulumanzi warns against impersonator robbing people

The water utility company warned the public about an impersonator allegedly robbing unsuspecting victims.

The water utility company, Silulumanzi, has distanced itself from an alleged con artist who wears the company’s old uniform and goes around robbing people and businesses of their money and belongings.

The company’s spokesperson, Richmond Jele, warned the public to be wary of him.

Jele said the man does not work for Silulumanzi. They do not know how and where he had got hold of the company’s old uniform, as it was discontinued in 2019.

The individual in question is said to be operating around Mbombela, Barberton and Lydenburg.

Jele appealed to anyone with information to immediately contact the police so that the person can be brought to book.
“I would like to plead with the public to help us as this particular individual is tarnishing our name, while at the same time robbing our mothers and sisters of their hard-earned money. If you have any information that can assist us in finding and apprehending this person, please contact the Silulumanzi governance and risk department or the SAPS,” he said.
