Mashishing artist explores amapiano sounds

Young and funky listeners enjoy her music right now.

Nonhle Motha, affectionately known as Nonhle M, is poised to become an amapiano icon.

The Mashishing songstress has become a toast of the town after she released an EP in August titled Dloz Lam. The EP has five songs on it, namely “Imizwa”, “Ngiyakhuleka”, “Ngithande”, “Masibambaneni” and “Ngikukhethile”.

The advent of streaming and social media has created an influx of amapiano stars overnight, making it difficult to pinpoint true talent that will last, but Nonhle M is adamant she is here to stay. “My music is spiritual and has a message, I express myself when writing a song, so the way I feel can’t be same to others, but people can relate to it.”

The 27-year-old said the reason why she chose the amapiano it is because the music is for the young people, who are vibey and full of energy.
