Elevation Show wins show of the month at BCR FM

The Elevation Show outshone all the others on Barberton Community Radio Station (BCR FM) in August.
It is the show of the month and Andile Muntuza Thela Masuku is the presenter.

BCR FM 104.1HMz has started a monthly competition in which it recognises presenters for the hard work they put in when they perform their duties.

Driven by her love of radio, Masuku won. Born in Tjakastad, she said she believes that being a presenter is not only a profession, but a calling to reach out to individuals for various reasons.

“It is my mission to help those who still feel as though they are trapped in dark places without any purpose in their lives. The show is aimed at motivating the listeners, building communities and families, building relationships and bringing people closer to God. It is a development programme that focuses on both the elderly and youth.”
According to her, she can describe her show as motivational and a platform for worship.

“I feel honoured. It is a great feeling to know that my hard work and dedication are noticed. This motivates me to work even harder and put more work into my craft.
“My future dreams for the show is to see it grow even more than what it is now, to go beyond presenting and interacting with my listeners on air. I want to get to meet them face to face, also to continue to change and impact lives.”

BCR FM’s programmes manager, Charles Mkhabela, said they select the winners by going through various criteria.
“We check the content, listenership, creativity and style of presenting.”
According to him, Masuku stood out from the others because of her style of presenting and because she interacts with her listeners.
“She communicates with the members of the community and works on building families, and she gives her all to the show.”

The Elevation Show airs on weekdays from 10:00 to 12:00.
