Award-winning actor, playwright and director Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu dies

The family said in a statement they appreciate the messages of condolences and request privacy at this difficult time.

The award-winning actor, playwright and director from KaNyamazane, Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu, has died today, July 24.

The family released a statement confirming the incident.

During an interview with Mpumalanga News, a family member, Mthokozisi Shabangu, said Mncedisi passed away at about 02:00 at his home in KaNyamazane.

“We are unable to give more details, although further information will be shared with the public as soon as the elders and family have met. We are still planning to meet as a family.”

Mncedisi played many roles on and off stage.

He was popular for his role as Khulekani on eTV’s soapie, Rhythm City, and he won a SAFTA for this role.
