MEC for health and other stakeholders do their 67 minutes at KwaMhlanga Hospital
This is part of the Department of Health's Mandela Month activities.
As part of celebrating the legacy of the late president Dr Nelson Mandela, the MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, accompanied by the traditional leadership, hospital board members and organised labour, spent their 67 minutes at KwaMhlanga Hospital on Monday July 18.
They had a list of activities on their programme for the day.
They started by visiting the hospital theatre which will be used to carry out orthopaedic surgery, among others.
During this visit, Manzini officially launched the orthopaedic outreach services.

Thereafter, they proceeded to plant trees, in line with this year’s Mandela Day 2022 theme of “Do what you can with what you have and where you are to make a difference”.

They also participated in the clean-up in the hospital’s yard and the helipad area. Manzini encouraged those in attendance to make a difference in their respective communities.
“You can make a difference by contributing what you have, just like Madiba, who sacrificed 67 years of his life in the struggle for a better life for all.”
