APC marches to Eskom Distribution Division in Mbombela to demand end to load-shedding
The party handed over a memorandum of grievances, as it feels the constant power cuts are threatening small business.
Members of the African People’s Convention (APC) took over the streets of Mbombela today, July 14, to demand a reliable supply of electricity and the end of load-shedding from the country’s electricity supply giant, Eskom.
They marched peacefully from Andrew Street to the Eskom Distribution Division in Ferreira Street.

The APC’s deputy president, Ernest Hlathi, called for the removal of the minister of public enterprises, Pravin Gordhan, as soon as possible.
“Gordhan seems to be incapable of saving Eskom. Many public enterprises like South African Airways are dragged to the ground because of the incapability of ministers. South Africans are suffering because their small businesses are not generating money due to the unstable electricity supply. We say enough is enough,” said Hlathi.

The party handed over a memorandum detailing all their grievances directed to Eskom, Gordhan and President Cyril Ramaphosa.
