The kildare-based Liver Brothers qualify for SAB League

The team is just one step away from reaching the ABC Motsepe League, which would give them a shot to qualify for the GladAfrica Championship.

The Kildare-based Liver Brothers FC will compete in the SAB League in the new season, following their impressive run
in the play-offs. They hammered Marite Aces 6-0 in the finals of the play-offs at the Mkhuhlu Stadium on Saturday.

“This is such a wonderful moment for my players who worked ever so hard since the beginning of the season to get to where they are today. hasn’t been an easy ride, but their discipline and commitment finally paid off,” said the team’s head coach,” Magic Nyalunga.

He promised their supporters and the community at large to continue their winning streak as they journeyed on to new territories.
“As long as they keep on supporting us, we will never disappoint them,” he said.

The team enjoyed much support from the community, including the business fraternity, which played a pivotal role in their fortunes and success.
This team with its rich history has always been a community team, having been formed in the early 1960s. It is on the verge of making it to the elite leagues.
They are just one step away from reaching the ABC Motsepe League, which would eventually give them a shot to qualify for the GladAfrica Championship.

The team president, Pat Khumalo, was all smiles as his troops qualified for an organised and professionally run league,
the SAB.
“When we revived the team, we only wanted to help fight crime and take the boys away from drugs and substance abuse, but we are happy to see them performing the way they do. It motivates all of us behind the team.
“I would like to personally give thanks to all our sponsors, such as Patrick Rikhotso and Antony Sibuyi for their efforts in making sure that the team is well taken care of.

We can never leave out our local headman, Induna Mhlongo, and Nonhlanhla Nzima, who are always working behind the scenes for the success of the team,” said Khumalo.

Amu Gazide, the team’s managing director, was also full of praises for the players, saying they are well on track to represent the entire Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s communities in the big leagues.
