Three suspects arrested for theft of diesel from truck and bowser

Three suspects have been arrested for allegedly stealing 2 100 litres of diesel.

BELFAST – According to the police, the suspects were arrested last Friday by the patrolling team during a joint operation near Railway Station Street.

A provincial police spokesperson, Brig Selvy Mohlala, said, “The suspects were arrested at around 00:30 by the Belfast SAPS during their joint operation. They noticed a truck and bowser parked along the road and went to investigate it.

The police discovered that two truck drivers and a bowser were draining diesel from the truck and the bowser to the tanks that were loaded on the trailer.

“Upon further investigation, it was discovered from the owners of the truck and the bowser that the two vehicles were not supposed to be around Belfast. The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, has applauded the members and the security companies for their vigilance and commitment in fighting crime.”

All three suspects appeared in the Belfast Magistrate’s Court on Monday and were remanded in custody. The case was postponed for further investigations.
